PMOPA Files Comments in Support of NASA ASRSResponding to a NASA request for public comment about the agency's role in managing the Aviation Safety Reporting System (ASRS), PMOPA noted the longstanding program complements PMOPA’s own safety initiatives. “PMOPA prioritizes a data-driven approach to safety of flight and fully supports programs, like ASRS, that provide valuable insights as to what is actually happening in the national airspace system,” he wrote. Nichols also suggested areas for improvement, including expanding the range of search options to cover all PA-46 variants and integrating ASRS with popular flight planning apps to facilitate easier entry than the current web-based portal.
